Notre Dame has decided to back out of today's home meet against us citing low participation numbers on their team.  I only heard about this unfortunate turn of events this afternoon.  Despite efforts of myself and our AD, we could not convince them to compete in today's meet.  

In an effort to make the best of this situation and honor our seniors appropriately, we will hold an intra-squad meet.  We will run it just like any other home meet, complete with touch pads and a meet official.

We will hold senior recognition at the completion of the meet.

On Thursday, January 28, the Summit Girls Swim and Dive Team will be honoring our senior swimmers during our final home meet of the season against Notre Dame.  Throughout the meet, we will be showcasing our senior class in various events.  Additionally, we would like to invite family and friends, and specifically, our senior parents, to attend this special recognition and help us honor the efforts of our senior swimmers. 

Today's meet is at Parkway North High School.  The lineup has been posted.

4p: When the meet finishes, the team will eat dinner together before heading back to Summit

1. For those swimmers not competing, your attendance is encouraged but not required. 
2. Please bring a sack lunch and snacks/drinks.  
3. Your are encouraged to bring extra towels.
4. Please bring money for dinner and some extra if you want concessions/meet t-shirt.
5. Dress warmly.

I am excited and proud of our efforts for the Brandt Invite prelims.  Our swimmers either got a best time or got close to their best times.  It is great to see this level of dedication and commitment!  Good luck at finals!

This is just a reminder that today's away meet vs Oakville is at the Mehlville High School pool.

We are back after the break and ready for action!  Tonight, we will be hosting Pattonville at home. Tonight's meet lineup is posted online.  Our next meet is on Thursday against Oakville at the Mehlville pool.  We will have another away meet on Monday, Jan 11 at the new Kirkwood High pool.

Next week, we will be hosting eight area swim and dive teams at our Nancy Brandt Invitational on January 13 and 14. Parents, we are in need of some additional volunteers for this event.  Please check your email for a list of openings.  Contact Coach Benson if you have any questions or concerns.

Due to the excessive flooding in our area, we have decided to cancel practice for tomorrow, Dec 30. The entire Rockwood School District will be closed as well.  Our next practice is scheduled for Jan 4 from 3p-5p.

We finished 2nd place at the tri-meet Monday night against Ladue and Mehlville with 122 points.  We were not too far behind Ladue with 146 and well above Mehlville with 46.  We had some great swims and some errors but overall, we swam well.  A number of swimmers earned their personal best times which is fantastic.

Today, Dec 15, is picture day right after school.  Please bring your team suits.  You will also have an opportunity to get individual pictures if desired.

Wednesday and Thursday this week we will have lunch in the pool area after school.  Practice will run from 1pm-3pm.  On Thursday, we will host our Secret Santa event.  

Friday, swimmers will need to be at the pool by 4:45pm and ready for warmups at 5pm.  The Quad meet will begin at 6pm.  There should be some good competition against Eureka, Webster, and Lutheran South.

It looked like the team had fun competing against each other.  It was a close meet throughout and came down to the final relay to decide the winners.  Black edged out Maroon with a score of 88-84.

Ultimately, this meet hopefully provided a helpful simulation for our new athletes and a reminder for our veteran athletes as we prepare for our first official dual meet.  It also highlighted some skill and technique issues that some athletes have not quite mastered yet as well as some disqualification concerns we will need to address.

Our first meet is at Affton on Monday, Dec 7.  The bus will leave immediately after school. For directions to the pool, check out our maps listed on our website.

The Girls Swim and Dive Team will be hosting our Maroon and Black Meet on Thursday at Summit starting at 4pm.  Family and friends are invited to attend as the team competes against each other.
